What is tangram?

Tangram, also known as "Seven-piece Puzzle" or "Seven Clever Pieces," is a traditional Chinese intellectual game typically made up of seven geometric pieces. These pieces are commonly made of wood, plastic, or paper and come in various shapes. When assembled, they can form a wide variety of complex figures. The origin of Tangram can be traced back to the Song Dynasty, and it remains popular today as a powerful tool for education, entertainment, and cultural transmission.

What can you do with tangram?

Composition of a Tangram

A standard Tangram set consists of the following seven pieces:

  1. Two large triangles: The largest pieces, shaped as right-angled isosceles triangles.
  2. One medium triangle: A moderately sized right-angled isosceles triangle.
  3. Two small triangles: The smallest pieces, also right-angled isosceles triangles.
  4. One square: The only square piece in the set.
  5. One parallelogram: The only asymmetric piece, which can be flipped to create different effects.

Our Tangram light panels have been improved by replacing the parallelogram with two triangles. This modification allows us to create even more shapes based on the original Tangram design, expanding the possibilities for assembly.
